To us, Revelation seems like a very weird and confusing book. However, the original readers may not have thought of it that way. The book was not written to be confusing. Instead, it was written with a particular writing style that was familiar to readers in the first century. Once we become more familiar with that genre, Revelation will become much less challenging.
